nightSTICK turns your smartphone into a personal safety companion. It creates a wireless communication between you, your smartphone, and the personal safety device while allowing for real-time streaming of data to authorities and pre-set emergency contacts in times of need.

We developed nightSTICK in consultation with law enforcement experts, perpetrators, and victims of street crime. It is designed to bring the latest innovations in off-the-shelf mobile computing, body-wearable cameras, and proven self-defense tools to public safety.

Setup

Setup is easy. Just download our app for iOS or Andoid.

It pairs with any iOS or Android device allowing for a wireless communication between you, your smartphone, and the personal safety device. Once synched, this connection enables real-time streaming of data to authorities and pre-set emergency contacts in the case that something was to go wrong.

Voice activation

How does it work? Well, mostly by itself.

We designed it to be user-friendly and fail-safe. In a crisis, you need not worry about finding your cell phone, entering passwords, fumbling with buttons, sliders, or activating controls.

Just turn ON nightSTICK with a voice command or tap of a button. Its modular safety devices are fully integrated into a wearable wireless package or handgrip. Day or night, its miniaturized IR camera has your back. With a word, its alarm and self-defense tools spring to your protection.

In a personal emergency, its instant communication and streaming video alert authorities and your contact list. Importantly, they provide indisputable evidence of the facts of an attack or altercation. 

It gives you a chance to confront a violent or traumatic situation without becoming a victim.

We wanted to make sure that nightStick doesn’t disrupt your everyday routines, which is why we made sure it remained small.

nightSTICK can easily be carried, attached to a bag, or tucked away into your everyday apparel—making sure you can keep on doing what you do. nightStick makes sure you’re safe.

What happens next?

The algorithm in nightSTICK’s IR camera senses if someone approaches you too quickly or too closely. If it perceives a threat to your safety, it lets you know.

• If you say “GREEN” and your code word, nightSTICK stays in its quiescent mode, monitoring your perimeter.
• If you say “RED”, or fail to respond, nightSTICK jumps to your defense. A strobe light flashes; alarms sound. They cannot be stopped or turned off. An authoritative voice warns the perpetrator to back off. His picture, profile and GPS location are already streaming to people who can help you.

If the assailant runs off, you can de-escalate the response by saying, “GREEN” or tapping the panic button. If he continues toward you, say “RED” again or double tap panic button and its self-defense tools will come alive.
